The story behind Funzi really starts with the people behind Funzi. Those that envision a world where there would be no wars, a world where everyone is living meaningfully and happily. Now you might be thinking, why don’t you add to that dream a world where it’s only sunshine, rainbows and unicorns because it seems a little far-fetched. But we believe that when you stop dreaming, or even dreaming the impossible, is when you stop making the impossible possible.
Mobile learning is learning carried out on mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. But, it’s more than a personal library of learning resources (which is already pretty awesome). What makes mobile learning so great is that it is inclusive. It overcomes the physical and financial constraints of traditional education or training methods. It is available to anyone with a connected device despite remoteness or conflicts.
Hello! I’m Melissa, the lead content specialist at Funzi! In between helping our clients Funzify (what we call it when we apply our mobile pedagogy) and launch engaging mobile courses, I’m always on the lookout for new ways to develop professionally! And that’s what attracted me to take part in the Dare to Learn event last week. I’m really excited to share with you what I’ve learned at the event, and I also hope that doing so will inspire others to share and apply their own findings in educational environments all around the world!
Most working in the tech industry are familiar with the concept of the technology evangelist. A person that takes the technology, product, or service that a company develops, creates a story around it, and roams the world, making everyone aware - and a fan - of that tech, product, or service. Globally, famous service and technology evangelists include Steve Jobs, Guy Kawasaki, Dan’l Lewin, and my fellow Finn, Peter Vesterbacka. Not all technologies succeed or survive and that makes the job of the evangelist often lonely and always challenging.
Funzi is bringing our learners handfuls of skills to build their dreams!
We’re introducing an improved way of portioning learning content on Funzi. We call these new bite-sized units handfuls of learning cards. Handfuls are optimized for quick and easy consumption. They will help users pace their learning journey.
