This spring Funzi participated in the Dubai Future Accelerators, a unique government-supported accelerator with the mission to imagine, design, and create the future. The second batch of this 9-week program brought together 35 participant companies with government entities that are investing into breakthrough technologies to solve global challenges. Funzi wins "Best ICT / App Product" at GESS Awards!
Funzi has been chosen as the “Best Free ICT / App Product” at the GESS Awards in Dubai. The awards, held March 15 in Dubai, are about celebrating the education industry’s brightest. The awards highlight and reward the quality and diversity of educational products, resources, services and people as well as the best educational establishments and the most dedicated members of the teaching profession.
Funzi signs Memoranda of Understandings with Dubai Municipality and Knowledge and Human Development Authority
Funzi has signed Memorandums of Understanding with Dubai Municipalityand an arm of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of Dubai - Qualifications and Awards in Dubai (QAD). The partnerships have been initiated during Funzi’s participation in the second batch of Dubai Future Accelerators, and were signed at it's closing ceremony in the presence of Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum.
QAD is responsible for regulating the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector. The purpose of the initiated partnership is to create a Funzi mobile learning pilot course for the certification of teachers in the United Arab Emirates.
The partnership with Dubai Municipality concerns training for food businesses in Dubai. The initially planned food business course topics will cover for example starting a food business, approvals and permissions, food business legislation, and food safety.
These agreements are major steps for Funzi in showcasing how mobile learning can enhance the delivery of training programs for different professions.
Blockchain and smart contracts technology courses into mobile learning by RSK University and Funzi
Smart contracts platform RSK and Funzi will be cooperating to bring RSK University, a platform to study Blockchain and smart contracts technology, to mobile using the Funzi service. The service will be published during 2017.
RSK University will offer courses on Blockchain and smart contracts to two key audiences: decision-makers and technology specialists. RSK University will be delivering both strategic as well as in-depth technical information about various subjects in the field.
