At the end of 2017, our Founder Aape Pohjavirta had the amazing opportunity to be a keynote speaker at the 7th International ADB Skills Forum. We were invited to participate in three presentations including a product showcase, a panel discussion about the future of work and skills, and a keynote speech on how jobs and employment will change in the future.
Wishing you happiness and warmth this joyous season!
We’d like to thank you for being part of our journey. Whether you’ve been with us a long time or our paths have only recently passed, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you.
Funzi and UNDP Syria have signed an agreement to deliver mobile learning to help strengthen the resilience and socio-economic stabilization of individuals and communities in Syria. Conflict in Syria erodes livelihood prospects of Syrians, making access to relevant information and quality learning evermore essential.
Funzi is launching SDG 101, a mobile learning course to give everyone the skills they need to become a global citizen. With SDG 101 learners will develop knowledge about the SDGs combined with 21st century skills like creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. These skills can then be leveraged as tools to live lives in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals. The course will be available for free to everyone with a connected mobile device.
This spring Funzi participated in the Dubai Future Accelerators, a unique government-supported accelerator with the mission to imagine, design, and create the future. The second batch of this 9-week program brought together 35 participant companies with government entities that are investing into breakthrough technologies to solve global challenges. The accelerator program brought along new and exciting partnerships that we are now pursuing.
One of our highlights in 2016 was the discussion on using mobile to build sustainable societies of the future at Slush 2016. Funzi's Chief Evangelist Aape Pohjavirta and UNOPS's Rolando Tomasini were moderated by Member of Finnish Parliament as well as expert on conflicts Pekka Haavisto.
If you didn't make it to Slush and even if you did, check out the inspiring conversation on us all contributing to building a better future!
