Simangele, it's a pleasure to have you share your story with us. Could you tell us about yourself and your background?

I'm Simangele Phyllis, living in Orange Farm, Johannesburg. I'm a self-employed individual with a passion for reading and cooking.

You mentioned having a dream of running a successful business. Can you elaborate on that dream?

My dream is to build a successful business empire, specifically, my company called Ayabonga Sima Construction and All Projects. I envision it operating worldwide, creating job opportunities and contributing positively to communities.

Funzi seems to have played a role in your journey too. How has Funzi made a difference in your life?

Funzi has been a game-changer for me. Before discovering Funzi, I lacked knowledge about business. The courses enlightened me, teaching me the ins and outs of entrepreneurship and how to run my own business.

Could you share specific ways in which Funzi impacted your life and business aspirations?

I was able to start and build my business because of the skills I learned through Funzi. I have been able to not only make a difference in my own life, but also in the lives of others and in my community by employing two people full time. I hope to expand this soon and make even more of an impact in the world.

In addition to equipping me with the knowledge needed to start my own business, Funzi also instilled confidence and happiness in me. It changed my approach to handling customers and resolving issues politely.

Which Funzi courses have you completed, and what motivated you to take them?

I've completed courses on staying healthy, managing money, as well as starting and growing my own business.* I was motivated to build my knowledge in areas where I lacked expertise, especially in starting and managing a business.

What did you enjoy most about the Funzi courses you took?

I enjoyed learning about starting my own business the most. The practical insights and real-world applications provided a foundation for my entrepreneurial journey.

Looking ahead, what are your future plans for personal and professional development?

I aspire to see my company, Ayabonga Sima Construction and All Projects, operate worldwide, creating more jobs and contributing to the global business landscape. By 2025, I envision building my own empire, thanks to the knowledge gained from Funzi.

Your goals are ambitious and inspiring. Is there anything specific you'd like to highlight about Funzi or share with others?

Everything about Funzi has been positive for me. One suggestion I'd like to raise is the idea of a Funzi graduation ceremony. It could be a fantastic way to showcase the achievements of learners, especially for those who didn't finish school due to various reasons.
