Finnish digital learning product Funzi and Indonesia’s leading telecommunications company Indosat Ooredoo announced their partnership on October 7th, 2021. The partnership will have a large-scale impact on digital education in Indonesia as millions of mobile users get access to Funzi’s selection of free and affordable mobile courses. The collaboration bridges the gap in quality learning and accelerates digital education in the world’s fourth most populated country.

Critical skills just a click away

Funzi micro-learning allows users to fit learning into their lives with just 15 minutes a day. The courses focus on essential skills to help learners advance in their careers, improve their well-being, and live a happy, meaningful life. Funzi’s mobile courses are broken into bite-sized portions, and complicated theories are made easy to understand by using conversational and aspirational language. Gamified and scientifically proven pedagogy keeps users committed and celebrates the learners’ accomplishments.

Ritesh Kumar Singh, Chief Commercial Officer of Indosat Ooredoo: “We are proud to partner with Funzi, an award-winning mobile learning service from Finland, to provide a mobile learning solution for our customers. As Finland has the best-developed education system globally, we hope this partnership will help bridge the gap in quality learning across Indonesia using technology and ensure equal educational opportunity for all. Now, our customers can enjoy a variety of training courses for free available on the Funzi service to develop the skills needed for them to build a brighter future. We hope that customers can fully take the benefits of this partnership and contribute to enriching people’s lives and the growth of Indonesia as a digital nation.”

Indosat Ooredoo promotes free and affordable Funzi courses to its millions of mobile users through extensive marketing campaigns. The courses range from communication to problem-solving, leadership, entrepreneurship, sustainability, sales, and financial management. The campaigns lead Indosat customers into the Funzi web app that runs on any internet-connected mobile phone browser, works seamlessly even with 2G networks, and requires very little Internet bandwidth to access.

Through this partnership, we seek to deliver sustainable benefits to improve our customers’ online digital lifestyle and quality of life. We believe that this initiative with Funzi can support digitalization in education and provide easier access to quality and impactful learning for millions of our customers across the country,” concluded Ritesh.

A new consumer product category from Finland in the footsteps of mobile games and ringtones

Finland is the world leader in education and technology. Funzi unites the two industries and establishes a comprehensive digital learning product for consumers on the global markets. While most learning services focus on the developed markets and high-end devices, Funzi is available on almost every device in every corner of the globe. This inclusive approach makes Funzi a truly global product.

Since the ‘90s and early 2000s, the golden years of the Finnish mobile industry with ringtones and mobile games, Funzi represents a new global digital consumer product type launching from Finland. Funzi’s whole product offering extends beyond mobile courses with various supporting assets such as Funzi webinars and guides, research, social media content, and a career and personal development hub for Funzi users on Facebook. The result is a seamless user experience that supports learners on their journey.
